L-Ascorbic acid 2-phosphate sesquimagnesium salt hydrate is a vitamin that has been shown to have potent transcriptional and growth factor activities. It is used in clinical practice for the treatment of diseases such as hepatitis, osteoporosis, and cancer. It promotes the transcriptional activity of human polymerase chain reaction by binding with lysine residues on the DNA template strand and stabilizing the polymerase enzyme. L-Ascorbic acid 2-phosphate sesquimagnesium salt hydrate also induces morphological changes in cultured cells, leading to cell death.
