1-Acetyl isonipecotoyl chloride (AIC) is a serotonin receptor agonist that has been shown to be effective in the treatment of depression, psychotic disorders, and Parkinson's disease. It is structurally related to n-methyl-d-aspartic acid, which has been shown to be an important neurotransmitter for memory and learning. AICs have also been shown to inhibit the production of dopamine D3 receptors in some neuronal cells. The pharmacokinetic properties of this drug are not well understood.
